LP.2228.11.1 was released on the third generation purple label around 1980. This pressing is almost identical to LP.2228.10.1, but the label perimeter text has been changed to "Distributed in Canada Under License by Capitol Records" in a thinner font. This is possibly one of the most common variations of the album.
Availability
This variation was available between 1980 and 1983 (for approximately three years). This pressing is relatively common, and can often be found still sealed today.
General Information
This pressing variation is the most common version of the old-style purple label pressings. As with the previous two variations, Capitol pressed these records on regular thicker vinyl compared to the earlier Dynaflex pressings. This pressing is the last variation of the album to have been pressed at Capitol's Mississauga pressing plant; the later pressing on the retro rainbow label was pressed by Columbia (CBS), see LP.2228.13.1.
Pressing Information
This pressing was also manufactured at Capitol's pressing plant in Mississauga, Ontario. These pressings can be identified by the medium size (39 mm) pressing ring, characteristic of Capitol pressings.
Matrix markings are identical to those of the two previous variations: these records were still pressed from the set of masters prepared for the 1976 reissue series (see LP.2228.8.1). The hand-written catalogue numbers are followed by the same lacquer codes, and the trail-off carries the same stamped MASTERED BY CAPITOL marking:

Cover
The cover of this variation is almost identical to the previous variations. The back cover carries the same legal information and target logo as before. The posterboard construction remains, but this print run is the first posterboard cover of the album to be credited: it was printed by Modern Graphics, whose MG logo appears on the spine (shown below).
Packaging
This edition was shipped in tight shrink wrap, with a rounded paper LP inner sleeve. These Capitol sleeves have a large flap on the bottom and side.
