On 28 July 2026, the Beatles website teased a new announcement, showing an apple falling to the ground, with the words "Good things come to those who wait". From the beatles.com USA website, here is the description on the release:
It’s the one you’ve been waiting for. Announcing Rubber Soul - Special Edition, newly mixed by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell, sourced directly from the original four-track master tapes.
First released on 3rd December 1965, Rubber Soul marked a pivotal moment in The Beatles’ evolution, revealing a band pushing beyond the conventions of pop music.
The Special Edition Super Deluxe Box Set includes the new half-speed mastered stereo mix, the 26-track collection of Sessions recordings that includes early versions of songs that deepen and expand the story of the album across two half-speed mastered LPs, the original mono album, the original Capitol US album, and a 7” of the non-album single. Each LP is pressed on 180g heavyweight black vinyl, inside poly-lined inner sleeves within individual album sleeves, alongside 88-page hardback book with a John Lennon foreword, introduction by Paul McCartney, photos, in-depth album background and track notes, all housed in a 12” slipcase.
This long-awaited installment of the remix series will be available on October 2nd, 2026, in a multitude of formats, and will include the expected remix album, a series of outtakes (many of which were available on the Anthology set), the UK mono mix and the US configuration. This will be housed in a box set with a hard cover book and a selection of exclusive prints.
