The Beatles Canadian Collection
An encyclopedic archive of Canadian Beatles records, tapes and discs.
This archive (beatlescanada.ca) aims at listing all documented variations of Beatles releases in every format (records, tapes and discs) released in Canada from April 1962 to present times. This reference site also covers matrix numbers, label generations, inner sleeves, record covers, booklets, J-cards, and pressing plants for every documented variation. It is the culmination of years of research, a great network of savvy collectors and generous friends who contributed to this archive.
This archive features an encyclopedic list of all documented Canadian variations. The lists are complete, but the detailed pages will continue to be updated regularly over the course of the next few years (these are currently greyed out). You have a copy that does not match our listings, tell us about it, it may be an undocumented variation.

A suggested path to get the most out of this archive: start with the Identification Guide. It is the most complete account of how Beatles releases were actually made in Canada. It works through the different aspects that carry collectable detail, from manufacturing processes to master sources, tracked year by year from 1962 up to 2014 when production was moved abroad. Every documented format released here is covered, from LPs to singles, alongside reels, 8-tracks, cassettes and CDs.
Spend some time exploring these informative sections and the rest of the site opens up, bringing more context and meaning to every copy in your own collection. From there, the discography sections list every documented Canadian variation, title by title. With a copy in hand, you can then use the Search tool in the menu to narrow down possibilities and pinpoint in this archive the exact variation you are holding. Finally, the Timelines and Matrices tools lay the whole archive out in front of you for a clear "aerial view" of the Canadian Beatles catalogue through the years.
